Cavity walls and lofts require a survey to be taken prior to any insulation being installed. This survey determines the suitability of the property for insulation and the amount of insulation that is required to fully insulate the property.

The survey is FREE and there is no further obligation to have the work carried out.

Cavity Wall Insulation Survey

A Cavity Wall insulation survey consists of checking the following:

• Measuring the Cavity width
• Calculating the area of insulation required
• Checking the structure of the property
• Checking the cavity is clear of rubble
• Checking there is suitable damp proof coursing
• Checking the condition of the exterior walls of property
• Checking that there is adequate ventilation in the property
• Checking that the property does not have any damp issues

Checking all the above will take the Surveyor approximately 45 minutes, the Surveyor will then discuss their findings and recommend the appropriate measure and course of action.

Loft Insulation Survey

A Loft Insulation survey consists of checking the following:

• The current depth of insulation
• The amount of insulation that is required
• Any pipes that need insulation
• Any hot water or cold water tanks that need insulating
• Size of the current hatch to make sure access to loft is suitable when carrying materials to and from loft
• Checking that there is adequate ventilation in the loft
• Checking that there is no damp or mould growing in the loft

Checking all the above will take the Surveyor approximately 45 minutes, the Surveyor will then discuss their findings and recommend the appropriate measure and course of action.
